Pastor’s Column April 24, 2013

Greetings,

I have been out of town this last week catching some very much needed R/R… and now, very much happy to be back to work. Thank you to all, for your prayers, love and support over these last few weeks. This has been a wonderful time for me in sharing the Holy Week and Easter time celebrations with all of you.
And, remember that we are still very much celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord during this beautiful Easter season! To believe in Jesus’ total and complete victory over sin and death means eternal life for us… and to not believe makes our faith meaningless! God so loved the world, that He sent His only Begotten Son, not to condemn the world but to save it from its sin. When we believe, when we trust and have faith in God, that shows itself in action… in how we love one another, our reward will be great in heaven. There is absolutely nothing more important than our relationship with God! Let us continue to practice our faith with even more intensity, knowing that we can actually help our family members get to heaven by our prayers and sacrifices. That we can actually help our friends and neighbors, even our enemies gain eternal life through the generous practice of our faith. The war is over. The final victory has been won! Jesus has overcome the world. However, there are still battles of the heart to be fought… souls are at stake! Let us all at least desire to become saints. This is authentic love and very pleasing to the Lord. Let us make Him happy with how we spend our time in this world, in anticipation of the life to come.

Peace, Fr. Tom
